Artist's Comments

I've been under the great influence of two books an one comic book recently - 'The name of the rose' by Umberto Eco, 'The pillars of the Earth' by Ken Follett and 'Troisieme Testament' by Xavier Dorison & Alex Alice. This medieval atmosphere was chasing me and here you can see the effect of this chase (which I lost, obviously ). The last crusador and the burning city he left behind...

Yes, I know that there is some resemblance to Conrad de Marbourg

Sweet. Sweet. And just for good measure: SWEET!

This is one excellent piccy. The detail on the main character is excellent - especially on his lower half. I really like how you've done the background too - it's minimalist, but it still conveys what it wants to -- simple, but effective.

The clouds/smoke in the background are great as well, they really give a good sense of scale to the entire thing.

If I was to have any qualms with this I'd point you to the guy's head - it looks good overall, but is it just me, or does he look a tad cross-eyed? :) (Smile) Also, the hair doesn't have the same level of detail that the rest of the guy has - this is no biggy, but a bit more detail in the hair would have gone one bit extra towards making this picture go that extra mile.

Still, a fantastic piece of artistry this - as a result, I'll be putting it into my faves :) (Smile) Keep up the good work!

Mmm.. just awesome :D (Big Grin)
You really gave the character so much personality with the detail! The hardness of the face really accents his age and experience in battle. The city behind is just awesome :D (Big Grin)
mmm good stuff!
